ABOUT
Frequently Asked Questions
Will Ellen and Adina travel to my area?
Yes! It is one of our favorite things to travel to your home town and teach this workshop live with you. Each situation will vary, so get in touch with us and we can talk about how to make it happen.
Do Ellen and Adina speak at conferences?
Both Ellen and Adina have spoken at conferences about Body-Led Breastfeeding and other topics. You can find a list of presentations on Ellen’s CV here.
How much does it cost to schedule a workshop?
The amount the workshop costs will vary by situation. We will consider the travel, lodging, and speaker fees as part of the package we present to you once we have all the details we need to provide you with an estimate.
Can I send a patient to you for consultation if I am stuck?
Yes, both Ellen and Adina are in private practice and provide both in-person and telehealth consultations. If we take over your patient’s care, we are happy to provide feedback from our visit. You can also consider a shared visit in which the care is transferred to us, but we complete the visit with you so that you can see what steps we take. See Shared Visits page to arrange shared care, or refer your patient to either Ellen or Adina, whose practices are described on our For Parents page.
I have a question about the online material, who should I contact?
You can direct this type of question to bodyledbreastfeeding@gmail.com
Is there any evidence to support this technique?
Interestingly, there is very little evidence about any of the actual clinical techniques we use in lactation consulting. Body Led Breastfeeding is no different. However, we are working hard to do the research that supports this approach to breastfeeding support, and in the meantime, know that the techniques we use are founded on scientific knowledge about the human body, learning, and how the world works and are often used in other specialties such as feeding therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and others.
